Tournament Rules 

Welcome to the Second Annual Yacht Club/Rescate Yellowtail fishing tournament. 

This will be a Jackpot Fishing Tournament. Entry fee is $50.00 per person.  This is a boat team event and you can have as many anglers per boat as you would like.  The Jackpots are $100.00, $250.00 and $500.00.  You can enter one or all of the Jackpots.  The committee will pay 3 places in each pot.  20% of pots go to the Yacht Club and Rescate, 5% goes to the Captains pool and the remainder is spit 60-30-10 for the first 3 winning teams.

 

AGENDA:

On February 15, 2008, there is Registration at the Yacht Club from 3:00 PM to 5:30PM and for late arrivals from 5:30 to 7:00 PM at the Marina Cantina and Deli.  The Dinner and Awards Party will be at the Yacht Club Sunday, February 17 starting at 5:00 PM for cocktails and the Dinner will be served at 7:00 PM.

 

GENERAL RULES:

1. The tournament will be run according to IGFA rules with one exception, we will allow use of wire lines.  Note:  the person who strikes the fish must land the fish.  Electric reels will not be allowed.

The tournament is limited to Yellowtail only.

 

2.  Fishing hours

     Saturday   5:00 AM – 5:00 PM

     Sunday     5:00 AM -  5:00 PM

     Note:  Scales will open at 1:00 PM daily.  Note:  There will be no

     Lines in call.

     THE WEIGH STATION WILL CLOSE AT 5:00 PM BOTH DAYS

      YOU MUST BE AT THE WEIGH STATION TO WEIGH YOUR

       CATCH FOR THE DAY.

 

3.  We will have two roll calls, the first will be at 11:00 AM and the Final  at 2:00
      PM.

4.       Tournament Control will be on Channel VHF 63 and will keep the Official time.  IT IS NOT NECESSARY TO CALL IN RELEASES. Report your total activity at each roll call. 

5.     You must be to the weigh station before 5:00 PM to have your fish weighed and sign your fish caught reports.  All fish caught reports not signed will be disqualified for that day.

6.  Each angler is limited to 5 Yellowtail per day and each boat is limited to           10 per boat per day.  All fish weighed will count 1 point per pound.

7.  The TWO DAY TOTAL of fish weighted will determine the winners.  Ties
      will be accepted, Example – If two or more teams tie for a Place they will
      equally divide the appropriate amounts for those Positions. 

8.  All entry money MUST BE PAID IN CASH in U.S. dollars or in the equal
     value in pesos.  Each boat will be considered a team. Awards will be on
     the basis of BOAT/TEAM, not individual.

9.  Please note that Mexican law requires valid permits for your boat and each
     angler. 

10.   Handlines are not allowed.  Fish must be caught on a hand Cranked (no electric) Reel and a Rod.

11.   The Weighmaster reserves the right to clean any fish after weigh in.  Any artificial weight manipulation will result in the disqualification of the boat and forfeiture  of all fees. 

12.    The Awards Dinner is Sunday Night at the San Carlos Yacht Club.  Cocktails 5 PM, Dinner 7 PM.

13.  There is a trophy for the largest yellowtail caught that has been donated by San Carlos Yachts.

14.  In regards to the Captain’s Award, anglers may not serve as  Captains nor may captains serve as anglers (one cannot be registered in both positions).  There will only be one Captain Award and it will be awarded to the highest point registered Captain. 

15.  All eligible fish must be caught within a 50 miles radius of Double Point.
